The CMIS System in the Kosovo Courts

At a meeting held on December 31, 2020, the Kosovo Judicial Council (KJC) presented information on the report for the use of the Case Management Informative System (CMIS) and its interconnection with the Police systems, Prosecutorial system and Court system. The registration of old criminal, civil, administrative and economic cases in the CMIS on the Basic Courts in Prishtina was completed on 12 December 2019. The project had planned to register all cases within these courts during 2019 and their total number was 40,927.

The registration on the Court of Appeal cases will be completed during the first three months of 2020. Thus on January 17 this court has started the registration of a total of 11,788 cases.

Last but not least, in order to create a higher level of security in non-interference in this system, the KJC has also set the criteria for the automatic distribution of cases and how they will be implemented by the Kosovo courts.
