Property rights: Women remain discriminated

An article published by Grazeta states that even if a woman has decided to pursue legal ways for securing property, court cases on these cases take years, so this can demotivate women to take the matter to the end.

On this topic it was pointed out by Luljeta Demolli – Director of the Kosovar Center for Gender Studies that the state of Kosovo and the family are discriminatory as only 4% of women inherit property. Also, the lawyer Edona Sina said that in Kosovo there are some legal instruments that regulate the ownership and the right of women to inheritance, but there are few cases where a will is left.
