International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

On the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, YIHR KS Project Coordinator Vilson Haxholli in an interview for Radio KFOR spoke about the importance of combating racial discrimination. “Our organization constantly advocates and promotes human rights regardless of gender, race, religion or ethnicity and it is very important that such days are marked to prevent discrimination in any form. Through our training and activities we try to make young people aware that discrimination is not an option and no one should feel discriminated against on the basis of any characteristic such as race.” – said Haxholli.

International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is celebrated annually on March 21st. This event is marked to commemorate that on this date in 1960, police had killed 69 people in a peaceful demonstration in South Africa against apartheid approval laws.
